Abstract
Statement of the problem. In various times, the outstanding performers and teachers worked at the Department of Orchestra String Instruments in Kharkiv I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts. Quite often, the significant historical distance and the lack of many archival sources cause the loss of information about the peculiarities of their pedagogical work. For these reasons, the task of actualizing interest in those artists who were our older contemporaries ? A. Leshchynskyi, S. Kocharian, L. Kholodenko and S. Yevdokymov ? seems necessary and valuable. Objectives, methods, novelty of the research. The articles by S. Kucherenko (2019), P. Syrotyn (2013), I. Syrotyn (2013), O. Shchelkanovtseva (1992, 2010) highlight some information about the life and creative path of the named figures, as well as A. Leshchynskyi?s learning methods and his violin arrangements. At the same time, the details of the pedagogical activity of the presented musicians-luminaries have not yet received the appropriate attention from scientists. The authors? own memories for the first time reveal some details about the pedagogical activities of their teachers and colleagues ? A. Leshchynskyi, S. Kocharian, L. Kholodenko, S. Yevdokymov. The purpose of the study is to outline some features of their pedagogical work in the class on the profession. Historical-biographical, analytical and systematic research approaches were used in the processing of documentary sources, published materials and personal memories. Research results and conclusion. A. Leshchynskyi, S. Kocharian, L. Kholodenko, and S. Yevdokymov had extensive pedagogical experience, working with students of different ages and levels of giftedness; had their own views on various aspects of violin playing ? from staging and working with the text to creating a convincing performing interpretation. Presented in the article observations on the peculiarities of working with students of A. Leshchinskyi, S. Kocharian, L. Kholodenko and S. Yevdokymov, on the one hand, complement the already existing information about the activities of the Department of Orchestra String Instruments, on the other hand, contribute to the formation of new pages in its history. Although the given memories, which are the personal experience of the authors, are subjective, they allow us to generalize some features of the mentors? pedagogical heritage.
